If you have not heard of David Barton, it is worth your time to look at his web site.
David Barton is a believer and a Christian Historian. He has made documentaries that chronicle America's Godly Heritage. In these documentaries he shares how our Founding Fathers were men of God.

Builders. The second link takes you to a page where there is a transcript of an "Election Sermon". That's right! Pastors were actually giving Bible Studies to elected officials before they took a public office! Pastors that taught what the Bible says about various social, political, and national events. The second link will take you to an "Election Sermon" given to a congregation that consisted of, among others, John Hancock and Samuel Adams.
